The Church of Scotland Guild will hold its next annual meeting in the Caird Hall, Dundee, tomorrow, 6th September.
Some 2000 representatives from across the country will gather there for the launch of the new theme, He restores my soul, the latest under the strategy, Let’s Live: body, mind and soul.
The day will be chaired by national convener, Esme Duncan from Caithness.
Speakers include the Rt Rev David Lunan, Moderator of the General Assembly, who will speak of people who had been influential in his life and the need to nurture the spiritual side of one’s life as well as the intellectual side.
The keynote speaker, author Irene Howat, will tell of her Christian journey and how her disability has led to her career as a writer. She also highlighted those who had been examples in her life through a reflection on the 23rd Psalm.
The full and varied programme will include news and reports on aspects of the Guild’s work, the most moving of which is set to be the report by the General Secretary, Alison Twaddle, on the Guild’s impact and contribution towards raising awareness of the issue of human trafficking.
