Ted carves wooden lectern for Brodick church

Ted Wilson of Lancashire has just made a beautiful wooden lectern for Brodick Church of Scotland.

Since attending a wood carving course at Brodick Castle ranger centre in May 2005 Ted has made several lovely pieces for different island groups including a clock for Machrie Bay Golf Club and the most recent one, a Celtic cross for Montrose House residential home.

He said: ‘It has taken me almost four months to make. The bible rest is from a piece of elm picked up in Brodick Castle grounds, the two pillars are mahogany, the three inserts ebony and the base oak.’
