St Oswald’s celebrates 125th anniversary

Two special services will be held next week to mark the 125th anniversary of St. Oswald’s Episcopal Church in Maybole.

On Thursday, 18th December at 11.00am a service of thanksgiving will be conducted by the Rector, the Rev Dr Ian Meredith, and Rev Dr Bertie Collie who was for many years minister of the church.

Then on Sunday, 21st December at 11.30am there will be a Sung Eucharist at which the preacher and celebrant will be the Most Rev Dr Idris Jones, Bishop of Glasgow and Galloway, himself a former Rector of St. Oswald’s.

Although the building is 125 years old this year, the formation of the congregation predates that by 36 years.
