Rural East Lothian churches form union

Church of Scotland logoThree rural Church of Scotland congregations in East Lothian are to form a new union in a bid to streamline how they function.

The name of the new linked charge will be Humbie with Yester, Bolton & Saltoun and it will be administered by two kirk sessions.

The Rev John Mitchell, who is the minister at all churches, said: “When I took over as interim moderator, it was felt that the current setup of three kirk sessions etc should be looked at with a view to reducing the administrative duties a new minister would be faced with.”
