The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland will spend the next three days (Tuesday to Thursday) attending business at the Scottish Parliament.
[The] Right Reverend David Lunan will take the chamber’s Time for Reflection period on Wednesday afternoon. He meets with Alex Salmond on Thursday.
Mr Lunan is also expected to attend the Transport, Infrastructure and Climate Change Committee meeting on Tuesday afternoon as it takes evidence for the Climate Change Bill.
The Moderator will also introduce a report on children’s welfare by the Kirk’s Church and Society Council to the Scottish Parliament on Wednesday.
Entitled, “Growing up in Scotland Today,” the council’s report will emphasise the need for the church to work in partnership with politicians and other agencies to create ways to encourage and offer support to people fostering or adopting a child.
