Minister retires … but will still lend a hand

The Rev Kenneth Warner is retiring as minister at Halkirk and Westerdale after 27 years in the post.

His retirement, which takes effect as from today – his 70th birthday – was agreed by the Caithness Presbytery of the Church of Scotland at its meeting in Thurso last week.

But he is not leaving the area and was granted a practising certificate which will allow him to continue to serve as a minister on an interim basis. He will also remain as a member of the presbytery.
