Hundreds of young people danced the night away at Inverclyde Youth For Christ’s ‘Nearly Hogmanay’ ceilidh. Young people came from across Scotland – from as far afield as Peterhead – to enjoy an alcohol-free evening of dancing at the annual fundraising event in Port Glasgow Town Hall last Saturday.
Richard Greig, a board member of the local organisation, said: “It was encouraging to see young people enjoy a traditional Scottish ceilidh, not on the streets or being hassled for anti-social behaviour as is often the news reported today regarding the Wii generation.”
Inverclyde YFC, now entering its nineteenth year of service in Inverclyde, work with local young people.
