Huge weapons haul found at house

Police have seized a massive haul of deadly weapons from a house in Greenock.

Officers retrieved Samurai swords, axes, machetes and Stanley knives from the house the Bow Farm area on Wednesday.

Senior officers hailed the find — their biggest in two years — as ‘an excellent result’ and a blow against gang culture.

Chief Inspector Grant Manders said: “Every weekend there are serious assaults and attempted murders — the combination of these weapons and Buckfast is Inverclyde’s weapon of mass destruction. They are a fatal combination.”
