Hibs legend Eddie Turnbull was “killed off” at a church awards ceremony.
Churchgoers who voted to pay tribute to the 85-year-old former player and manager as a “Pillar of Leith” were told his award was posthumous because he had died.
The Pillars of Leith event was the brainchild of South Leith Parish Church’s minister, the Rev Ian Gilmour.
After his mistake, Mr Gilmour visited Eddie to present him with his silver medal and apologise.
