Christian leaders in the north-east are debating the future of a 19th-century village church which closed its doors for good just before Hogmanay.
Worshippers at the Cruden West Church at Hatton, south of Peterhead, were stunned last summer to hear that services in the picture-postcard building were to end.
An emotional final service was held last Sunday.
Elders said the decision to close the property was made at one of the “saddest meetings”.
Minister Rodger Neilson said last night: “What is going to happen to the church building has yet to be determined.
“Church elders will be looking at possibilities over the coming weeks but nothing has been decided yet.”
