Cardinal Keith O’Brien is to take his fight against plans to allow the creation of part-human, part-animal embryos into Gordon Brown’s back yard.
Scotland’s most senior Catholic will address a public meeting in St Bryce Kirk hall in Kirkcaldy – the parish where the PM’s dad John was a Church of Scotland minister.
Last night, the cardinal said the decision to address the meeting in Brown’s Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath constituency next Friday night was designed to put maximum pressure on the PM.
He said: “It’s extremely important that Gordon Brown realises the groundswell of public revulsion against these plans and that the message of opposition is taken right into the heart of his constituency.”
O’Brien will be joined for the question-and-answer session next week by pro-life campaigner Lord Alton.
