Work to refurbish a historic Black Isle church was postponed yesterday to allow the funeral of the building’s long-time caretaker.
Willie Hogg opened and closed East Church at Cromarty to visitors every day for the past 10 years.
So it was fitting that his funeral should be the last service performed in the historic building before it gets a massive renovation.
Specialist workers will move into the building today to start work on the drainage of the A-listed church.
Mr Hogg, 85, died in Invergordon County Hospital on September 24. He was buried in Cromarty churchyard following the service at the church.
