A Church of Scotland minister had his nose broken by a gang of yobs as he went for a walk on Christmas Day.
Reverend Gordon MacKenzie, 60, was spending the festive period with his wife, Sheila, and daughter, Sarah, in Bellshill, Lanarkshire.
He was out for a bit of exercise when he passed a trio of thugs who jumped him from behind.
They then kicked and punched him as he lay on the ground.
Gordon had travelled from Brodie, Forres, to be with his wife, who has been living away from home since the summer after suffering a stroke. She is receiving treatment in Glasgow.
