A cheeky bricklayer buried a Rangers top in the foundations of a Catholic church in Inverness and hid another in a wall.
But the joke appears to have backfired on the bricklayer, who was suspended when his employers UBC Group found out.
Yesterday Catholic church leaders in the city dismissed the incident at St Columba’s Church as a “prank”.
It is understood that a shirt found behind the main altar has been removed by the contractors, who are carrying out an investigation.
