Murder accused Peter Tobin left court in an ambulance yesterday as his trial was halted for a second day.
The 60-year-old was taken from the High Court in Edinburgh in a wheelchair.
Tobin, charged with the murder and rape of Polish student Angelika Kluk, was led up a ramp into the waiting ambulance.
The jury were then sent home for the second time.
Lord Menzies told the eight women and seven men that it was hoped the trial would continue on Monday. On Thursday, the jurors were sent home at midday because 60-year-old Tobin was ill and undergoing medical tests.
Yesterday, Lord Menzies told them: “I explained to you yesterday what the problem was and that problem has not yet been resolved.
“It appears the accused is still ill and inquiries into that matter have not been concluded.”
