The Church of Scotland has today appointed Pauline Weibye as Secretary to the Council of the Assembly.

Mrs Weibye, Session Clerk at Craigmillar Park Church, Edinburgh, has spent her working life in the public sector in a variety of management roles, joining local government soon after graduating from the University of Edinburgh.

In the newly created position, Mrs Weibye will be responsible for ensuring that the central administration of the Church of Scotland runs smoothly and efficiently in order to free up the Kirk’s people to spread God’s word and the Church’s message of hope.

The Church has also chosen Reverend John Chalmers, Pastoral Adviser and Associate Secretary of the Ministries Council of the Church of Scotland, Edinburgh, to be the next Principal Clerk following the retirement of the Very Rev Dr Finlay MacDonald next May.
