A baby-faced yob’s six month reign of terror in the Vale came to an end last week – and he was ordered to spend Christmas behind bars.

James Sartain launched an unprovoked attack on a stranger walking his dog, fired racial abuse at a policewoman, uttered threats, spat at cops, and was caught wearing a knuckleduster.

The 17-year-old, of Argyll Street in Levenvale, appeared from custody at Dumbarton Sheriff Court last week and admitted committing the catalogue of crimes between March 20 and November 14.

The court heard than on April 4, Sartain was drinking Buckfast and cans of lager with a group of youths near Vale of Leven Angling Club.
